The funny thing about The Universe is that it will keep sending you the same lesson until you learn it.

Like when you need to practice patience, so you get stuck in traffic, then a really long line at the supermarket, then your neighbour keeps you talking while your arms are full of shopping and you’re late to pick up the kids ?

Those are the simple lessons to learn, but life’s best universal lessons are usually hidden behind a limiting belief.

A limiting belief is one of those stories you tell yourself, usually around not being good enough, that holds you back from achieving all your desires.

The universe will present a gift to you, disguised as a challenge or something that really pisses you off, and when you overcome it, you’ll move to the next level of enlightenment. Like a video game!

Yet most of us get stuck at the limiting belief step. We actually believe it. We tell ourselves things like…

“I can’t be a life coach until I have my own life sorted out”

“I’ll have to wait until the kids are grown up”

“If I was younger I could do it, but I’m too old now”

“If only I wasn’t *insert sad excuse here* then I could *insert tantalising dream here*

Three years ago when I started my coaching business, I had a big limiting belief, and I know I’m not alone with this…

“I can’t be a business coach if I’m still working in a job.”

You’re probably wondering… how did she deal with it? I bet she’s going to share some incredible tips for overcoming this belief so I can do it too…

So how did I deal with this universal lesson hidden behind a limiting belief?

Well… I didn’t. ?‍♀️

I just quit my job, cold turkey, and went gung-ho into a business.

While I started off great (making more money in my first week than my job had paid), it’s actually been a rollercoaster couple of years, with ups and downs, dark tunnels, massive client results, many personal struggles, tears and laughs.

And after 3 years, the universal lesson has popped its head up again, just checking if I’m ready now.

So what am I doing this time?

Embracing it! And here’s how…

I haven’t shared this publicly yet, but one of the reasons for my move to Brisbane is because I’ve got a job with BHP again.

I’m really excited about this new role, and the whole direction of this new department. It’s focused solely on people, culture and training, so I get to work with an awesome team, learn new skills and expand my range.

But… what do I do about my business?

My old fear is still there… “I can’t be a business coach if I have a job.” How can I teach about marketing if my marketing business isn’t full time? Who’s going to follow a marketing teacher who works in a real job? My audience will abandon me and I’ll have to start over. ?

I know there’s going to be people reading this who agree with these beliefs, and will unsubscribe today, and that’s ok, because everyone is on their own journey. I wish them well in whoever they choose to learn from next.

And even more important, I know there are people who are in this very situation themselves, and are looking for guidance.

You might be one of them, wondering…

“How do I transition from my job into a full time business?”

“What if people don’t believe in my business because I have a totally unrelated day job?”

I can’t promise I have a magic solution, but I CAN promise to share real stories, with honest challenges about what it really takes to build a business while you’re still working.

I’ll share how I’m learning this particular universal lesson, from personal growth and mindset shifts, to actual strategies for dealing with real life experiences.

I hope that, by me embracing my limiting belief and shining light on it, even though I have fear around it, I’m going to inspire the very people who need to hear this message, and I’ll be giving them a role model who has made mistakes, faced her fears, and is willing to start again… hopefully the right way this time!

I look forward to sharing more stories with you all about my new adventures, like the FIFO lifestyle, working nightshifts, and exploring the QLD countryside in my 7 days off every other week.

Yes that’s right… I work 7 days on, 7 days off, and the best bit is that Phil’s roster aligns with that too ?

So here’s to the next stage of YOUR journey, wherever you are, and the courage to take the step you’ve been putting off!

All my love,

Cat xx

PS. I also wanted to say thank you for being part of my journey and for being someone I can share my thoughts, knowledge and ideas with. I couldn’t do what I do without your time and attention, which is something I do not take for granted. Thank you xx
